How else can you make delicious pear turnovers with four ingredients and only a few minutes of prep? I don’t know if I should complain or be glad that the recipe as written only makes four turnovers. We have a family of four. That means I only got ONE!

How to Make Easy Fruit Turnovers with Only 4 Ingredients

As The Pants said, “I could eat an arbitrary number of these.” I love dessert, but I don’t actually like super sweet things. These pear turnovers with a buttery crust and lightly sweet filling are perfect for me. I devoured mine on its own, but these turnovers would also be wonderful served warm with vanilla ice cream. I don’t care how you serve them as long as you do it soon!

Crescent Roll Turnovers

These pear turnovers made with crescent roll dough are so good that no one will believe how easy they are!

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 can crescent roll dough I used reduced fat.
  • 15 ounces canned sliced pears in heavy syrup drained
  • 2 teaspoons butter melted
  • cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into 8 triangles (keep matching pairs together).
  3. Place 1-2 pear slices in the center of one triangle of dough, and place the matching triangle over the top. Pinch the edges together tightly to seal. )If the top starts to tear, you can pinch off an unfilled corner of the dough and press it over the tear.)
  4. Repeat this to make four turnovers. Brush melted butter over the tops, and liberally sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the buttered side.
  5. Carefully transfer assembled turnovers to a baking sheet, preferably lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Bake in preheated oven for 11-15 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving to avoid burns from the very hot filling.

I’m sorry I think I forgot to reply to this! I was trying to figure out how I sounded more like a mom than usual and then got sidetracked before coming up with a witty comment.

That photo looks nice doesn’t it? Two sweet boys doing some cooking… That was the only picture I could get when they weren’t arguing! This is why I don’t write a “cooking with kids” blog ;)
