This Philly Cheese Steak Pizza combines two of my favorite dishes into a new comfort food classic!

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza - Fun dinner idea!

I make no claims about knowing anything about real Philly Cheese Steak.  I am from Mississippi and now live in California, but I sure do love the combination of steak, peppers, onions, and cheese.  When I saw the idea of turning this tasty sandwich into a pizza, I knew I had to try it.  We all LOVED this recipe, and I’m sure I will make it many more times. For the pizza dough, I used my recipe for Greek yogurt pizza crust, but you could use your own favorite or store-bought pizza dough.  You will love this no matter what kind of crust you use I’m sure.  Just don’t make the crust too thin because the toppings are a bit heavy and need a sturdy crust.

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza

This easy dinner has all the flavor of a Philly Cheese Steak plus the fun of pizza.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Roll dough on a floured surface to a 1/2″-thick shape that will fit on your baking sheet. (You may need to make two smaller pizzas.)
  3. Transfer dough to a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Spread a thin layer of steak sauce over the surface of the dough. Set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add meat and vegetables, and sprinkle with the dry steak seasoning. Saute, stirring frequently, until meat is brown on all sides. It’s OK if the meat is still very rare because it will cook more in the oven. Don’t overcook it, or your meat will be tough.
  5. Scoop meat and vegetables evenly onto your prepared dough, leaving the liquid behind. Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes, until cheese and crust are starting to brown. Slice and serve!

I love how quite often I have leftover ingredients and your emails hit my inbox at just the right time, Andi! I had leftover cooked sirloin steak from Labor Day and knew I needed to use it up or freeze it. I had a half bell pepper on hand and plenty of onion so I sliced up about 1/3 of a large red onion and sauteed both together in some oil and Emeril’s Original Essence. I brushed about 3 TEAspoons of steak sauce over a par-cooked homemade crust, and it was just right according to hubby.
And we have additional slices for tomorrow. :-) Thank you for another winner of a recipe!

Hi! This recipe is delicious!!! My boyfriend and I are doing Weight Watchers… We added mushrooms to it plus used 4 tbsp of the steak sauce instead of 1. We cut the pizza into 8 slices and calculated it to be about 5 points per slice. Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you so much, Yvette! Your comment made my day :) I have done WW in the past and will probably start it again pretty soon. I’ve somehow gained a few pounds since starting this blog ;)
