This watermelon martini with fresh melon is the perfect way to cool down this summer!
The Tall One and I love watermelon, and now that summer is near we can finally get melons that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Tasting fresh, juicy watermelon inspired me to make this watermelon cocktail. Not only is it sweet and tasty, it’s nice to look at too. You could also make this with cantaloupe or honeydew, or use all three for a really colorful drink. Cheers!
Drop melon balls in the bottom of a martini glass, and place glass in freezer for 10-15 minutes.
Add vodka, Midori, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for a few seconds. Strain your shaken spirits over the melon in the chilled glass. Enjoy!

Thank you! I’m usually happy to get one good photo, especially of drinks which I think are difficult subjects, but I couldn’t stop taking pictures of this one.

Funny, I think of Midori as pretty run of the mill. I don’t know why I even have it, but sometimes I end up using it in margaritas if I’m low on Cointreau or agave nectar. I had never tried Chambord until I saw you use it, and I bought it for the Raspberry Sake cocktails. The bottle is so pretty, how could I resist?
