This sangria loaded with cherry and apple flavor is perfect for fall!

  • Total Time: 4 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 apples cored and sliced
  • 1 c. Morello cherries in light syrup or frozen cherries NOT maraschino cherries
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 c. apple liqueur (like Berentzen, NOT Sour Apple Pucker)
  • 750 ml white or red wine try Riesling or Merlot
  • 16-24 oz. sparkling apple cider (pure cider, not sweetened with corn syrup)

Instructions

  1. In a 2-quart or larger pitcher, add apples, cherries, and cinnamon sticks. Pour apple liqueur and wine over fruit.
  2. Cover and chill for a few hours before serving.
  3. To serve, fill a 12-ounce glass with ice, and pour approximately 2/3 full with sangria. Top with sparkling cider, and add some fruit to each glass. (You can adjust the wine to cider ratio to taste.)

Notes

Don’t get me wrong. Maraschino cherries and Sour Apple Pucker have their place, just not in this recipe!
