This simple cranberry syrup recipe is great to use in cocktails, on desserts, and pancakes or in lemonade. Perfect for the holidays and all year round.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 cup 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of fresh cranberries cut in half
  • pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. combine granulated sugar, water and cranberries in a small pot
  2. bring to a low simmer, reduce heat slightly
  3. stir gently and cook for about 2 minutes
  4. remove from heat and strain through a fine or mesh strainer into a bowl
  5. allow to cool
  6. transfer to an airtight jar and store in the fridge

Notes

For a thicker syrup cook the syrup for about 5 minutes until the cranberries start to break down and fully soften. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature before straining. This will create a stronger cranberry flavor and a thicker syrup, but keep in mind it wont be as smooth.
