Ingredients
Scale
- 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour (or in my case spelt flour)
- 1 envelope Fleischmann’s® Pizza Crust Yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup very warm water 120 to 130°F
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or more to taste
- 1–2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- your favorite toppings (You will need 6 oz. sliced black olives, a slice of salami, and a mini bell pepper to decorate as shown.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- In stand mixer bowl, stir together 1 c. flour, pizza crust yeast, sugar and salt. Using a spoon or spatula, stir in water and oil until well blended, about 1 minute.
- Stir in remaining flour to make a soft dough, and then mix on medium speed with a dough hook for approximately 5 minutes until dough has formed a smooth ball. (If you are not using a stand mixer, knead dough on a well-floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth instead.)
- Use a rolling pin to roll dough into a large circle, and then stretch and pat it into a 12″ pizza pan.
- Spread desired amount of pizza sauce over the crust, leaving at least 1/2″ inch around the edges unexposed. Sprinkle cheese over the sauce, and then arrange desired toppings over the cheese.
- Bake on lowest oven rack for 12 to 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and crust is browned.
