			- 1 pund ground beef
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 5 ounces tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried Herbes de Provence or Italian seasoning mix
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 box spaghetti
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- fresh basil leaves for serving
Instructions
- 
First of all, prepare the pasta as said in the package indications (is preferred to use spaghetti, but you can also use any kind of pasta you want).
- 
Heat a large pot on the stove over medium-high heat. Add in olive oil and saute onion in the olive oil for about 5 minutes, until softened.
- 
Next, add the ground beef to the saucepan and cook for about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally and make sure that the meat changed its color before moving to the next step.
- 
Add the salt and pepper to the meat and stir.
- 
Then, add the tomato paste and tomato sauce. Stir well to combine and bring to a boil.
- 
Now, add the rest of the seasonings: parsley, garlic powder, crushed red pepper, Italian seasoning mix, and sugar.
- 
Add water and stir well. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- 
Add fresh basil leaves and serve hot over spaghetti.
