  1. First of all, prepare the pasta as said in the package indications (is preferred to use spaghetti, but you can also use any kind of pasta you want).
  2. Heat a large pot on the stove over medium-high heat. Add in olive oil and saute onion in the olive oil for about 5 minutes, until softened. 
  3. Next, add the ground beef to the saucepan and cook for about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally and make sure that the meat changed its color before moving to the next step.
  4. Add the salt and pepper to the meat and stir.
  5. Then, add the tomato paste and tomato sauce. Stir well to combine and bring to a boil.
  6. Now, add the rest of the seasonings: parsley, garlic powder, crushed red pepper, Italian seasoning mix, and sugar.
  7. Add water and stir well. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  8. Add fresh basil leaves and serve hot over spaghetti.
