Spicy Sriracha Grilled Sausage and Peppers

All you need is Johnsonville sausages, 2 bell peppers and red onion, and a few pantry staples. Just in time for the holiday, Johnsonville has limited edition Firecracker Brats that will spice up any patriotic gathering. We all know you can’t spell SaUSAge without USA, and these tasty brats are proudly made right here in America.

Firecracker Brats are a little spicy to add some kick to your holiday, and they are even better when served with grilled sriracha peppers and onions. You don’t need to do any fancy measuring for this recipe. The sausages are already ready to go, so they just need to be grilled to perfection. For the veggie marinade, simply stir together a glug of olive oil, a squirt of sriracha (or other favorite hot sauce), sprinkle of garlic powder, and a heavy pinch of salt.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 5 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Johnsonville Firecracker Bratwurst Sausages
  • 2 bell peppers (colors of your choice)
  • 1 red onion
  • olive oil
  • sriracha
  • garlic powder
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix together olive oil, sriracha (or other hot sauce of choice,) garlic powder, and salt together in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Stir in chopped bell peppers and red onion to give them a nice coating.
  3. Let soak in the mixture for as long as you’d like; the longer they soak, the more flavorful they will get.
  4. On medium heat on your grill, begin cooking the brats.
  5. After a few minutes on the grill, add the marinated veggies to roast on either a grill basket or heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  6. Flip veggies and sausages as needed. Cook until sausages reach an internal temperature of 165F.

Notes

Veggies can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance depending on how flavorful you want them.
