Homemade Strawberry Syrup
- 4 cups fresh strawberries If it’s not strawberries’ season, you can also use frozen strawberries. If so, thaw them first and drain out the excess liquid.
- 10 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
Tea
- 2 bags black strawberry tea Feel free to choose any kind of black or green tea you prefer.
- 2 cups boiling water
Instructions
Prepare Your Tea
-
Steep the tea bag in a ½ cup of water for 5 minutes.
-
After removing the tea bag, let it cool to room temperature and then chill in the fridge.
Make the Strawberry Syrup
-
Heat the strawberries, sugar, and water in a frying pan, stirring occasionally.
-
Continue to simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes as it thickens up.
-
After cooling at room temperature, strain the syrup using a fine strainer to remove all the small fruit pieces.
-
You should end up with about a ½ cup of strained fine syrup.
Cook the Boba
-
Add the boba to a small pot with boiled water and cook for 5-10 minutes. If you don’t have quick-cooking boba, boil them as said in the product’s instructions.
-
When they are ready, strain the boba and run them under cold water for a minute to cool down.
-
Then, immediately add the Tapioca pearls to the strawberry simple syrup.
Make the Milk Tea
-
Stir the cold tea, milk, strawberry syrup, and boba together in a tall glass. Lastly, just add some ice cubes and serve!
