  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 2 1x

Ingredients

Scale
Homemade Strawberry Syrup
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries If it’s not strawberries’ season, you can also use frozen strawberries. If so, thaw them first and drain out the excess liquid.
  • 10 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water
Tea
Ad-ins
  • 1/4 cups tapioca pearls (boba) Try using quick cooking boba. If you can’t find them, just adapt the boiling time.
  • 1 cup milk If you are looking for a vegan or dairy-free strawberry milk tea, use almond or oat milk instead.
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

Prepare Your Tea
  1. Steep the tea bag in a ½ cup of water for 5 minutes.
  2. After removing the tea bag, let it cool to room temperature and then chill in the fridge.
Make the Strawberry Syrup
  1. Heat the strawberries, sugar, and water in a frying pan, stirring occasionally.
  2. Continue to simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes as it thickens up.
  3. After cooling at room temperature, strain the syrup using a fine strainer to remove all the small fruit pieces.
  4. You should end up with about a ½ cup of strained fine syrup.
Cook the Boba
  1. Add the boba to a small pot with boiled water and cook for 5-10 minutes. If you don’t have quick-cooking boba, boil them as said in the product’s instructions.
  2. When they are ready, strain the boba and run them under cold water for a minute to cool down.
  3. Then, immediately add the Tapioca pearls to the strawberry simple syrup.
Make the Milk Tea
  1. Stir the cold tea, milk, strawberry syrup, and boba together in a tall glass. Lastly, just add some ice cubes and serve!
