This sauteed green beans recipe is a quick and easy way to cook fresh green beans, and it’s ready in under 15 minutes. It can be easily improved with some onions, fresh garlic, or mushrooms — whatever you’d prefer! Is one of the most versatile side dishes I know and that’s only one reason I love it so much. Being healthy and also vegan, it is the perfect pairing to any main dish!

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil/butter
  • 2 garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil with 1 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Then, add your beans and cook for 4 minutes.
  3. Drain, then rinse them under cold tap water to cool. Shake off excess water.
  4. Heat olive oil/butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Next, add green beans and garlic. Toss/stir for 4 minutes until the garlic is golden and crispy.
  6. Finally, add salt and pepper, then toss. Transfer the sauteed green beans to a serving dish and serve warm!
