Any time of day is the right time to eat a breakfast burger on toast covered in bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese!
Breakfast for dinner usually means eating traditional breakfast foods at dinnertime, but this breakfast burger puts a twist on the idea. Now you can eat dinner for breakfast too! Serve this luscious burger covered in cheddar cheese, a fried egg, and crispy bacon with fries in the evening or hashbrowns in the morning. You can’t go wrong either way! How do you like your eggs? I generally like mine over medium, which I thought I made up and was always embarrassed to say out loud when ordering at a restaurant. I was relieved to overhear other people order eggs that way, so I think it’s a real thing. Basically, I want a runny yolk (but not too runny) with the white cooked completely. Matt and the boys like over hard or scrambled, although I think the little one is coming over to my side of the egg fence. For these breakfast burgers, I made mine with a slightly runny yolk as you see here, and I made the others with a rubbery puck hard-fried egg. They are really easy to customize to everyone’s tastes. My kids just had the cheese and bacon with no egg at all. They are missing out! I hope you will try them the breakfast burger way, and let me know what you think!
This easy and delicious burger is perfect for breakfast or dinner!
Total Time:30 minutes
Yield:41x
Ingredients
UnitsScale
8 slices thick bread
8 slices center-cut bacon
1lb. ground beef patties
steak sauce like A-1 or Lea and Perrins
seasoned salt
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 eggs
2 tomatoes sliced
mayonnaise optional
Instructions
First cook the bacon to your liking in the microwave, skillet, or oven. Set it aside.
Toast bread, and place two slices on each plate. Spread mayonnaise on the toast if desired.
I used pre-made beef patties as a time saver, but you can form your own if you prefer. Drizzle a little steak sauce and sprinkle seasoned salt over both sides of the patties.
Spray large skillet with cooking spray, and heat over medium high heat. Cook burger patties to your desired level of doneness (about 5 minutes/side for medium). Place a cheese slice on each burger for the last few minutes of cooking until melted.
Arrange tomato slices on one side of toast for each serving, and place burger patties on tomato slices.
Quickly rinse skillet if needed, and return to heat. Allow any water to burn off, and then spray with cooking spray again. Cook eggs the way you like, and transfer a hot fried egg to each burger. Top with bacon and the other piece of toast, and serve!

I saw this last night on Instagram and my husband laughed at me as I was literally punching my phone to “like” it! My favorite burger ALWAYS has an egg, along with bacon and blue cheese with all the fixin’s!
