Thinking about dessert? Try these S’mores Bars.

BBQ Smores
Only recently did I try my first ever s’more. I grew up roasting marshmallows, but we never did more than eat them off the stick. I thought making delicious sandwiches out of them was only done in the movies. A couple months ago, the boys and I were on a weekend trip with family, and we found ourselves with dark chocolate bars, cinnamon graham crackers, marshmallows, and a BBQ grill. Now I know what I’ve been missing all these years. Yum.

Last week I saw these S’mores Bars on Pinterest. Right after wondering why I didn’t think of this myself, I made it my number one mission in life to go buy Golden Grahams and marshmallows.

These were as simple to make as rice crispy treats but a million times better if you ask me. I used 1/2 c. mini chocolate chips, which I found to be plenty, and they melted in for evenly distributed chocolatey goodness. I also used a 13 x 9″ pan instead of 8″ square, but otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. I highly recommend trying these!

  1. I’m sure my husband would really like these!

  2. I got almost stuck to the table when I last cooked with marshmallows. It was like cooking with superglue.

    • I remember a bad marshmallow incident when I tried to make rice crispy treats in my college dorm room, but all I had was a microwave and tiny sink in there. Butter does help to make the marshmallow easier to deal with. Butter helps everything.
