Friday Happy Hour: Raspberry Sake Cocktail Recipe

Raspberry Sake Cocktail I typically only drink sake when I’m on a sushi date with The Pants, which rarely happens. (I should figure out how to find a babysitter at some point.) This was the first time I bought sake to drink at home, and I wanted to make it into something a little special. It took a few tries to find the right balance of flavors in this sake cocktail, but this version was just right.

Ingredients
  • 3 raspberries frozen or fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Chambord black raspberry liqueur
  • 2 ounces dry sake chilled
  • 3 drops rose water

Instructions
  1. Chill martini glass in freezer or fill with ice for a few minutes. (Discard ice before preparing drink.)
  2. Place raspberries in the bottom of the chilled glass, and pour Chambord over the fruit. Add sake and rose water. Toast and drink immediately.

    Oooooo… this sounds delish! I used to get a saketini at a sushi place I used to go to in Columbus. They used to make it with cucumber? Oh my… was it tasty. I keep thinking I need to try and re-create it. ;)

      Thanks, Lilly Sue! I still wouldn’t say I know anything about sake, but I think when you add flavor to it you can cover up a mediocre bottle ;)

      Thank you, Liz! So glad you like it! It’s funny you say it tastes like a flower because I was originally planning to use an edible flower instead of whole raspberries. Then I realized that was too fussy, and I didn’t have time to go all over the place looking for edible flowers.

    Thanks for coming back, Lisa! :) These drinks are nice because they are just made with sake, so you can have a few, unlike some of my stronger cocktails from Fridays past. I am so nervous leaving my kids with anyone, and we don’t have family around here. The kids would probably think it was fun to have a babysitter come over now that they are getting older, so I should work on finding someone!
