Get ready for a bubbly, refreshing treat: The Green Fizz Midori Cocktail!
How has your week been? I would like to say mine has been great, but it kinda hasn’t. I’ve been sick. My kids and husband have been sick. There has been family drama and hurt feelings. Our washing machine broke. Blah, blah, whining, blah. It’s times like these that I remind myself that there are many people with real, terrible problems in their lives. So what if we have to buy a new washing machine even though the one we have is only a few years old? We are healthy (except for a bad cold) and fortunate. Thinking about all the ways I am lucky makes me realize that my little problems will pass and are really not a big deal. You know what else helps me feel better? A cocktail. No one can feel sad when they have a tall, cool, bubbly green cocktail in their hand. Seriously, just look at this thing! I feel happier just looking at the photo.
If you are having a rough day or week too, I hope you will treat yourself to a cool, refreshing Green Fizz and count your blessings. Want a mocktail version? Skip the Midori and vodka and use lemon-lime soda instead of seltzer!

- Fill two 12-oz glasses 2/3 full of ice. Add half of apple and kiwi slices to each glass, working the apple slices into the ice.
- Pour 1 oz. Midori and 1 oz. vodka into each glass. Top with seltzer, and gently stir, breaking up the kiwi a bit to release the flavor. Serve with a straw and enjoy!
This would also be great with honeydew melon balls!
These cocktails will cheer you up too:
Oh my gosh… just saw this. I really REALLY need one of these…or several. Looks luscious! (and I think I have all the stuff!)
I hope you are at least on your second by now, Marye ;) Cheers!
What am I always drawn to the recipes with alcohol in them? Looks delicious! Great blog with some amazing recipes. Cheers!
still need to buy that midori! Looks yummy. And green, lol. So sorry to hear you’ve been sick and also drama, etc. With two young girls in the house, drama is staus quo around here, so I feel for you much. And holy cow no fair on the washing machine. Arrrgh. I will try to help by telling you about a lovely cocktail I had last week. Don’t know amounts, but it was listed on the menu as containing fig-infused Cognac (!), lemon juice and citron. Maybe something else, I forget. And the martini glass rim was dusted with sugar.… Read more »
Yes, you should just get the Midori because I think it’s pretty easy to find and not expensive. That cocktail sounds divine. I really need to step it up around here. I’m not a trained bartender, so I can’t always (or ever) think of fancy and delicate combinations like that!
Yum! Loves divine.
Thank you, Laura! Have a great weekend :)
Sorry to hear your week hasn’t been great and that you’re feeling sick. Hope things get better and you feel well soon Andi. This drink sounds wonderful for lifting those spirits up and love the pretty green:) Take care and hope you have a good weekend.
Thank you, Kelly, but today was already a lot better! Sometimes a lot of small bad things can pile up and make for a really bad day or week. Sorry for being a bit glum in this post. Have a good weekend, and I hope we’ll see you at Saturday Night Fever :)
