What Is Cajun Sauce
Cajun sauce is a spicy mayo-based sauce prepared with ingredients like mayo, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and other preferred seasonings. It’s very versatile so many people often add their own twist on this sauce. You can also substitute the mayo with heavy cream if necessary.
Cajun cuisine is a style of cooking developed by the Cajun–Acadians who were deported from Acadia to Louisiana during the 18th century and who incorporated West African, French, and Spanish cooking techniques into their original cuisine. In addition, Cajun cuisine is sometimes referred to as ‘rustic cuisine’, meaning that it is based on locally available ingredients and that preparation is relatively simple.

Steps for Cajun Pasta Recipe with Chicken
Trust me: if you give this dish a try, you’ll never stop cooking it once in a while! The instructions are simple, the ingredients are more than affordable, and the result is creamy pasta and juicy chicken breast. So, why don’t we just start preparing it?
First of all, combine all the ingredients for the Cajun seasoning in a small bowl.
Then, cut the chicken into 1/2 to 3/4-inch cubes, place the cubed chicken in a bowl, and pour the Cajun seasoning over. Stir to coat the chicken with spices.
Add the olive oil and butter to a large deep skillet. Heat them over medium-high until the skillet is very hot and the butter is melted.
Next, add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook it for a couple of minutes on each side. Keep in mind that the chicken breast does not need to be cooked thoroughly at this point.
Add the diced yellow onion to the skillet and continue to sauté just until the onion begins to soften (for about 2 minutes).
Then, add the uncooked pasta, fire-roasted diced tomatoes (also use the remaining tomato juice), and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir just until everything is evenly combined, then cover with a lid and allow the mixture to come up to a boil.
When they come to a boil, turn the heat down to medium-low and let the pasta simmer for about ten minutes. Also, stir every couple of minutes, until the pasta is tender and the sauce is thicker.
Next, add the cream cheese to the skillet and stir until it has melted into the sauce.
Finally, top the cajun pasta with sliced green onions and serve.
