Momosas: A Mocktail Recipe!

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

Don’t miss this fun mocktail recipe, which puts a fun spin on mimosas. Perfect for kids and adults!

Momosas Mocktail Recipe - A tasty nonalcoholic spin on mimosas!

My friend Cathy at Lemon Tree Dwelling is expecting her fourth baby girl next month! There are many questions I have about this like:

  1. How did she get FOUR girls? As you know, I have two boys and am convinced that if I had more they would all be boys. I think that’s the only kind of kid I make.
  2. How is she such an amazing blogger with three (soon to be four) kids to take care of? I can barely keep up as it is. I think #1 must be a factor.

Momosas Mocktail Recipe - A tasty nonalcoholic spin on mimosas!

All I can say is that Cathy is one talented, lucky lady, and I am really excited to help her celebrate her pending arrival with a virtual baby shower! Some of her blogging buddies are all surprising her this morning with recipes we made just for her! I happen to know that Cathy is fond of cocktails, but of course she has to stick to mocktails for another few weeks. What better treat for her than this fun “mom”osa? If you have to leave out the champagne, you might as well get sherbet out of the deal, am I right? This special drink will make kids super happy too! I do recommend serving it with a straw (not shown here) to stir in the sherbet as it melts. Oh, and be set up for refills because it’s hard to drink just one!

Moms-to-be, kids, and just about anyone will love this delicious orange drink!

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 12 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 gallon orange sherbet
  • 1/2 gallon orange juice
  • 1 liter sparkling mineral water with orange essence not sweetened

Instructions

  1. To make individual drinks, fill champagne glass about 1/2 full with sherbet. Pour in orange juice to cover the sherbet, and then top with sparkling water. Serve with a straw for stirring.
  2. To make as a punch, add sherbet to a large punch bowl, and break it up a bit with a spoon. Pour orange juice in, and then slowly pour in sparkling water. Stir with serving ladle frequently as you serve.

Notes

To make this a cocktail, use brut champagne instead of sparkling water!

Thank you, Kelly! I am always amazed at home much you get done with now two little ones at home. I always feel so behind on visiting friends’ blogs, folding laundry, and a million other things. I definitely don’t feel like a super mom!

Oh Andi, you’re way too kind. I feel so behind too – I have a backlog of food pictures but every time I sit down to try to write a post or transfer the pictures – one of the little ones needs me haha. So you are definitely a rockstar for being able to post so many yummy eats :)

Oh my goodness!! This is incredible!! I love the virtual baby shower!!!

Your MOMosa is absolutely perfect! I will definitely keep this in mind for future parties! We typically just make a quick punch, but this would be so much more fun! And my kiddos will love this, too – a super fun drink we can all have! :)

Thank you so much, Gretchen! You could make this one as a punch too, but the champagne glasses make it feel fancy ;)

Andi, I would not be a blogger if I had small children. I would lose my mind!! I have no idea how any of you do it. This drink looks wonderful and perfect for any occasion. :)

I know a lot of us have a lot of guilt for not paying enough attention to our kids so we can get some work done! I tell myself it’s good to give them some independence and not entertain them constantly, and I hope that’s true! Thanks for coming over, Lisa :) You could make a non-dairy version of this with sorbet!

Awww you are so sweet, Andi! And I tend to think you’re right – so many people I know either make boys OR girls (not both!!) This is the PERFECT drink for me right now….to satisfy all my cravings :) Thanks for all your support – personally and in the world of blogging – and thanks for being part of my baby shower!
