I can’t wait for you to try this easy tilapia pizza! Have you tried seafood on pizza yet, or are you a little unsure of the idea? I promise you are going to love it! Before I moved to California, I don’t think I had ever seen seafood pizza, but out here clams and shrimp are somewhat common toppings on specialty pizzas. It makes total sense because if you love pizza and seafood like I do, why not put them together? I’m challenging you to think out of the box (the pizza box, that is) and give this tasty, new combination a try!
This easy pizza recipe uses Chicken of the Sea’s Tilapia Fillets in Marinara Sauce, which make it so easy to put together a quick meal. How nice is it that the sauce is already in there for you?! I simply spread the fish over a premade pizza crust (gluten free in my case), arranged sliced onions and bell peppers over the tilapia, and sprinkled shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. Bake it at around 400 degrees, and you’ve got a PERFECT lunch or dinner that took almost no time to make. Watch!
Look for the tilapia fillets in sauce in all sorts of other flavors like Santa Fe, Teriyaki, and Yellow Curry. I’ve used them on nachos, stirred them into pasta, and more. I’ll have more recipes coming up for you in the coming months, but for now, I hope you love the pizza!
Tilapia Seafood Pizza Substitutions, Tips and Tricks
Here are some other little tips and tricks to consider when making seafood pizzas
Think about seafood pasta. When I make seafood pizza, I often think about seafood pastas. I love using those flavor combinations. For me, crushed red pepper flakes always go well with tomato sauce based seafood dishes. Think calamari with a spicy marinara dipping sauce. If you want feel free to give your pizza a nice sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
You do not need to use tilapia fillets in tomato sauce, although it is really easy. You can buy fresh or frozen tilapia from your grocery store. You will want about 3oz of tilapia, and I will cut it into strips to put on the pizza. You will also need 1/2 cup of tomato sauce or pizza sauce.
Some other great seafood pizza toppings to consider are pickled jalapenos, red peppers, diced tomatoes, fresh parsley and basil, olives (black, green, or kalamata) and parmesan cheese.

I don’t see a lot of seafood pizzas around here – they seem to be much more popular in Asia. this looks so tasty!

My assistant is in the Philippines, and she says her favorite pizza is Hawaiian. I need to ask her about seafood pizza there. I love to know what kinds of foods are popular in different parts of the world.

I didn’t know they sell tilapia and I didn’t know they sell it in a sauce; that is convenient! A really fun and bright weeknight pizza idea!!

It really is! They have some other flavors too. I used their sriracha salmon in a quick rice dish a couple weeks ago. It’s so handy because the seasoning is already there, and it takes no time to cook! Thanks, Lora :)

This super quick and easy sheet pan shrimp recipe is a great option for a busy spring or summer weeknight. The bright flavor from the lemon and tomatoes combined with the creamy avocado and feta...
I love this recipe because it has it all: kick from the buffalo sauce, crunch from the veggies and crispy onions, creamy sauce, and tender chicken, all tied together in a flour tortilla.
