Friends, let me tell you something about procrastination. It can be a wonderful motivator to wait until the last minute to finish a task, but it can also cause things to go terribly wrong. Take, for instance, creating a brand new cocktail the night before you plan to share the recipe. If all goes well, you feel like a creative genius. However, if the first draft isn’t great and then you run out of the spirit you are planning to use, you wish you had planned ahead a little more. This week I turned to my Facebook followers to ask for cocktail ingredient inspiration. The first suggestion was bourbon. Marvelous. I thought and thought and came up with what I thought was a good recipe idea. Little did I know that I was nearly out of bourbon. I wasn’t completely happy with the first take, and it was too late to run out for more supplies. Never fear! I have posted three recipes featuring bourbon in the past! Now, back to my story of procrastination gone wrong: There I sat at 9:00 on Thursday night wondering what on Earth I would share the next day. Not willing to give up, I raided the liquor cabinet and racked my brain to come up with the dessert cocktail I’m bringing you now.
