These soft chocolate chip cake cookies will satisfy your cake and cookie craving! This foolproof recipe will turn out just right every time!
Hi! It’s Crystal from Cooking with Crystal here to ask: Do you ever wish there was a hybrid between cake and a cookie? Well, I have OFTEN thought about it… maybe even had a few dreams about it, and today I am sharing my recipe for a delicious Chocolate Chip Cake Cookie!
Baking cookies has not always come easy to me. I am very particular. I do not like them too brown, overly thin, or lacking in flavor. I have spent years trying to get it down and without fail, at least 3-4 times a year when I make cookies, I will be slightly off on an ingredient and they will not turn out right. So, don’t fret if you haven’t mastered the perfect cookie yet. This recipe will save you! It is much easier to not mess up because instead of producing a thin cookie, you have added space for it to rise like a cake.
It tastes just like it sounds too! Nice and moist, fluffy and soft….all while containing the deliciousness that is a chocolate chip cookie. You really have the best of both worlds here with this dessert. It’s a super simple cookie recipe with the typical ingredients, ones that you usually already have sitting in your pantry, with just a few slight modifications to produce the “cakiness” that is sure to please!
I brought these to a family get together, and I’m not exaggerating here, these were eaten up so quickly. They were such a hit because people loved their uniqueness, and then once they bit into them, the taste had them coming back for more.
I want to mention too that with this recipe, the options are endless for being creative. If you only have white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or butterscotch ones- That is TOTALLY great too! I tried them with peanut butter chips and they were equally as wonderful! So whatever you have on hand in your pantry you can get by with!
Let’s face it….at the end of a long day, is there really anything better than a warm chocolate chip cookie coming out of the oven? I think not.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line two baking sheets with silicone baking mats or parchment paper. (Or use one baking sheet and repeat baking step.)
Mix together the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
In a mixer, cream the butter and sugars together. Then add the eggs (one at a time) and vanilla. Then slowly add in the flour mixture, doing it in 2-3 batches. Then gently stir in the chocolate chips.
Using a medium cookie scoop or a spoon, form balls the size of a tablespoon and place them about 2 inches apart on the cookie sheets. Bake for about 12 minutes, depending on your oven and how quickly they brown up for you. Cool on the baking sheet.
