If you have 10 minutes, you can mix up a pitcher of this easy red sangria recipe and be on your way to a fun cocktail hour!
Red wine is one of my very favorite things, so of course I love this simple red sangria recipe. I can’t say that I actually know much about wine beyond knowing that some taste better to me than others, and I rarely meet a glass of red wine I don’t like. The Pants, on the other hand, prefers cocktails. As it turns out, sangria is a perfect middle ground. This fruity, refreshing red sangria pleases wine and cocktail lovers alike. It couldn’t be simpler to make, looks beautiful, and is perfect for making ahead for a ready-made Happy Hour treat. It’s also an inexpensive way to serve a crowd because you get great results with cheap wine and spirits.
Place orange, lemon, lime, sugar, triple sec, and brandy in a large glass pitcher. Muddle gently to release juice from citrus and dissolve sugar.
Add apple slices and pour in wine. Stir gently, cover with plastic wrap, and let soak at room temperature or in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
Serve over ice or at room temperature. Add seltzer water if you would like a lighter taste. Cheers!
Notes
Sangria will last 4-5 days stored in the refrigerator if you happen to find yourself with leftovers.
This simple cranberry syrup recipe is great to use in cocktails, on desserts, and pancakes or in lemonade. Perfect for the holidays and all year round.
