Ten Healthy Quinoa Recipes That Taste Like Comfort Food

Come on in to get 10 Healthy Quinoa Recipes for the new year!

Get 10 tasty, healthy quinoa recipes including muffins, buffalo chicken bowls, quinoa corn chowder, and lots more!

Hello! Tomorrow is January 1st, and that’s when we roll out the New Year’s resolutions. Pretty much every year, mine include exercising regularly and losing ten pounds. I lose interest in those goals well before the end of January and go back to my slightly chubby, sedentary life. I hate sweating and dieting, which really makes weight loss a tough job for me.

What I DO like is eating healthy without feeling like I’m eating healthy. When I can eat what seems like comfort food but is actually good for me, that recipe is a winner. We’ve all heard how good quinoa is for us since it’s packed with protein, fiber, iron, and more. Plus, it’s gluten free! Quinoa on its own isn’t particularly exciting, but you can do so much with it. That’s why I’m going to give you some examples of quinoa’s versatility in these 10 awesomely awesome quinoa recipes.

I have never tried Quino but do have Freekeh so I may substitute! I could not get to Mary Eller Recipes on twitter, says the page does not exist. I tried to find her on facebook and go through that way but couldn’t find er there either. If there is another link, I will try again! Thank you for such an awesome giveaway! I have been wanting one of these for some time but just not in my budget right now!

I have never tried (or heard of) freekeh, but now I’m going to have to look it up just based on the name! The Twitter entry should be fixed now if you’d like to come back to grab that one. Good luck in the giveaway, and thanks for entering :)

Thank you for replying, I missed some entries but now I have them! The brand I have is freekehlicious and that is their web address. Loved LizA’s comment. And just how do you pronounce Quino? Kweeno? and does it taste like pillow stuffing?? I must get some now!! LOL

Quinoa wouldn’t get such a bad rap if it were easier for the General Public to pronounce, and didn’t look like pillow stuffing! That being said, I’ll take on all the new recipes for it that I can get my hands on —– there’s got to be at least one that my family will eat!

This cracked me up, Liz. I didn’t know how to pronounce it for a long time, so I just avoided saying it out loud! It is growing on me though especially since it cooks faster than brown rice. Hope you enjoyed the holidays!

These all look amazing, but I have to say the Caprese Quinoa Casserole stands out to me the most (I am a sucker for anything caprese!)
