Hi! It’s Cyndi from My Kitchen Craze :)

Ranch. Dressing. Who can live without it? I know that I can’t, and neither can my family. We are a huge ranch dressing family, but lately we’re tired of the store bought stuff. I have one brand that we like, but we were missing the restaurant-style ranch.

Do you love restaurant ranch dressing? You know that creamy ranch you get with your burger or French fries. That ranch you love to dip your buffalo wings in. It is seriously the BEST! The bottled dressing wasn’t cutting it for me anymore, so I knew I needed to start making my own.

I actually created this recipe during the last Super Bowl weekend. I wanted to make a bunch of appetizers for the big game, but knew that not only me, but the family would want a good ranch for dipping. When we used to live in California, my sister would always make homemade ranch. She always brought it when it was her turn to bring the veggie tray, so I gave her a call and got the recipe.

My sister’s recipe was amazing, but I needed something that was easier. Her ranch dressing took a little more time and ingredients. If you’re like me, you don’t have that kind of time. When you need ranch, you need it quick! ;) That’s why I used a recipe shortcut so it could be a easier.

I ended up using ranch salad dressing seasoning to save on some time, but everything else is homemade. I should probably call this semi-homemade ranch dressing, but whatever you want to call it, it’s delicious, easy, creamy and a darn good ranch!

The next time you want an awesome salad dressing or dipping sauce, remember this Homemade Ranch. Your guests will be thanking you and asking for the recipe.

I double up on the ranch powder totaling 1.5 tablespoons. I cut down the salt and add 1/2 tsp of pepper.

This dressing is amazing. I make it every week to take in my lunch for my tossed salad. I’m so happy to finally have a ranch recipe that is better than restaurant quality.

if you are making homemade ranch dressing, why are you buying the ranch dressing mix ? doesn’t make sense.

Pretty good, but a bit over seasoned. Either reduce the onion/garlic powders and salt, or increase the mayo, buttermilk and sour cream.

Great share, Andi. I’ve been DIYing my ranch dressing for a while now using basically your recipe. It really doesn’t take that long to make, and once ya try it, you will never go back to the bottled stuff. No soy or canola oils, it really is like the dressing at a *good* restaurant. Everyone who tastes it loves it. Hint: for those who love bleu cheese dressing, just crumble some bleu into it. So good.
