How to Make the Perfect Mango Tango Cocktail

Before we begin preparing the mango cocktail together, I think it’s best to learn some tips and tricks. I always love to learn everything there is to know about a new recipe before I start preparing it, as it gives me time to process it thoroughly. Now that we have learned how to make this easy cocktail recipe, the pro tips are even appreciated. You know you still want to impress your guests!

Mango Tango Cocktails

Therefore, these are some tips and tricks to prepare the Mango Tango cocktail like a pro:

  • Even though we don’t tend to have coconut rum on hand, try to respect this detail of the recipe. I tried to replace it with white rum, praying not to change the initial taste too much. Well, unfortunately, it did. So, I strongly recommend going and buying some coconut rum for all the tropical cocktails you’ll prepare.
  • When preparing cocktails in general, freshly made fruit juice and nectar are the best options you can go for. So, when it comes to the Mango Tango cocktail, this is also the case. Try preparing your own mango nectar and orange juice with a juice maker if you can.
  • Make this extra cocktail refreshing by serving it in a cold glass. After lining the rims of your cocktail glasses with sugar (optional), chill them in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.

Mango Tango

Ingredient List

  • 1 oz orange juice;

If you can make it, use freshly squeezed orange juice. If not, use high-quality orange juice from your local store.

  • 3 oz mango nectar;

Make sure to use mango nectar, not mango juice, as it gives a more authentic flavor.

  • 1 oz coconut rum;
  • 1/2 triple sec;

If you prefer, you can substitute it with Cointreau or Grand Marnier.

  • 1/2 lime juice, freshly squeezed.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have coconut rum in my bar at home, so I used only white rum. However, I strongly recommend you follow the ingredient list closely if you want to achieve the tropical Caribbean flavors bouquet.

Step-By-Step Recipe

  1. Add the coconut rum, triple sec, mango nectar, orange juice, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Also, add some ice cubes if you’re beverages aren’t freezing cold.

  2. Properly prepare your cocktail glasses. I added some sugar to the rim of my glasses to impress a little more. Also, the sweetness of the sugar gives some extra flavor to the first sip.
